“Como anillo al metro” is understood as a unitary intervention at urban scale, with a representative external image both in daytime perception and at night. Horizontality and fragmentation are considered as the mechanisms capable of endowing the required complex of buildings with singularity and spatial richness. Instead of building a continuous urban wall, typical of the adjacent residential blocks, fragmentation and permeability solutions are sought between the outer roads and the interior garden. In this way, the project establishes a flexible game between horizontal elements and vertical components that provides order, richness and complexity to spaces, while allowing multiple options of programmatic functioning and future expansion. The topographic layer plays a crucial role in the proposed solution. It is a surface that adapts organically to the demands of the land, creating landscaped areas in the central courtyard, and making a transition, thanks to its green treatment, towards the urban streets that surround the site.

 “Como anillo al metro” se entiende como una actuación urbana unitaria, con una imagen representativa tanto en la percepción diurna como en la visión nocturna. La horizontalidad y la fragmentación se plantean como los mecanismos capaces de dotar de singularidad y riqueza espacial al complejo de edificios demandados. Contrariamente a la continuidad de una edificación muraria, propia de las manzanas residenciales adyacentes, se buscan soluciones de fragmentación y permeabilidad entre las vías perimetrales exteriores y el jardín interior. Se establece con ello un juego versátil entre desarrollos horizontales y componentes verticales que van a proporcionar orden, riqueza y complejidad a los espacios, al tiempo que permiten múltiples opciones de funcionamiento y ampliación futura. El estrato topográfico tiene una importancia crucial en la solución propuesta. Se trata de una superficie que se adapta orgánicamente a las exigencias del terreno, creando ámbitos ajardinados y de estancia en el espacio interior de la manzana, a la vez que establece una transición, con su tratamiento vegetal y arbolado, hacia las vías urbanas que circundan al solar.
